Sounds like a very similar set to Manchester. Murphy has definitely got younger since I last saw them -- weird. On the Resurrection tour he looked really rough and aging (I saw three dates on that one so he wasn't just having a bad night) this time he looked more youthful and energetic (though for no discernable reason he was doing a terribly Mancunian accent all night).

Typical Guardian review: "They shun their more commercial material" they played Bela, Ziggy, Kick in the Eye, Terror Couple and Telegram Sam -- that *is* their more commercial material. (IIRC it was Ziggy Stardust which got them their highest chart position). "Quite where the band have been in the past few years (a tomb?) is unexplained" -- well it's not actually that difficult to track down their various solo projects/ film work etc.

I didn't know Rosegarden Funeral was John Cale, it's long been a favourite of mine.

I think David J and Andrew Eldritch are gradually converging, they're starting to look more and more like each other.
