Links - Tattoo exhibition in Whitby and something to play with

Some of you may be interested to hear that the history of tattooing exhibition from the National Maritime Museum last year is on tour, and is in Whitby from March to October 2005. Skin Deep: a history of tattooing. (x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] whitby, apologies if you see this twice.)

And from [livejournal.com profile] thepaintedone, The Zoom Quilt. I could play with it for hours!

The Zoom Quilt is facinating isn't it? So imaginative.

I love the amount of detail, every time I look at it I spot something new!

I did post this (http://wgw.topmum.co.uk/2005/03/19/skin-deep-a-history-of-tattooing/) to the WGW site (http://wgw.topmum.co.uk/), but I appear to have kept the post as a draft without realising it... d'oh! Thanks for reminding me!

We went to see the tattoo exhibition when it was at the NMM, and I was very disappointed in it. I've seen quite a few that I really enjoyed in California, which is why I was interested in seeing this one, but it left me with the feeling of "is that it?"

The Zoom Quilt, on the other hand, is very cool. : )

I've never been to a tattoo exhibition, so it might not be as disappointing for me. I won't make a big effort to get there if I'm running short of time though, so thanks for the warning.
