If it's the mailing list I was on, I unsubbed fairly soon because they babbled on ceaselessly about anything except Firewater.
Do you look in on Tod's Blog ever? He doesn't post anything very often, but there's one from this month talking about the interesting time he had travelling from Turkey to Israel to do some recording. There's a Myspace group too, with forums that you don;t seem to need to be logged in or a member to read, although obviously you do have to be willing to touch myspace with a bargepole.
