A quick heads up on the close of Phase 2 for anyone who's interested but not already a supporter. The important bit is this:

We will not have a public album containing material from the supporter's CD or DVD for release through regular record label channels.

Also, the Halber Mensch DVD is going to be on general release (as opposed to supporters only) sometime in the future.

I appreciate I am a Johnny-come-lately to this journal, and am possibly asking a very, very stupid question, but do you have a connection to the band?

Not really, just a long term fan. I'm one of their "supporters". They decided to do the last album without record company support, so they asked their fans if they'd like to effectively sponsor them - for 35 euros we got access to web broadcasts of studio time, free downloads of tracks in progress, perks at the gigs and an exclusive supporter-only CD. Then they released another CD with some of the tracks from the supporter CD and a few others, distributed normally.

They've done the same thing again for this album but they've just announced that this time there won't be an album on general release, so anyone who likes Neubauten but didn't sign up won't be able to get hold of it. They played one very long track from the new album as the encore to the recent London gig and it was awesome. I thought I'd give the heads up to those at the gig who aren't signed up.

That's cool. I wondered if you were related to the band or it was a friend's band. For example "British Sea Power" (if you have heard of them) are closely related to my oldest friends, who have been "persuading" me to go to gigs for some time!!

I'd be interested to hear their music (Neubauten that is). It's not a band I've heard of (sorry), but always open to new music!
