Precisely. I grew up with both playing in the house, and while I do like The Doors style, there is more than enough of it in an average Doors song. In fact, most Doors tracks would be infinitely improved by being reduced to about 66% of their length.
It didn't help that there was a guy in my circle of friends at uni who would always put "Riders on the Storm" on the jukebox every time we went out, because it was the longest song listed and thus 'value for money'.
